The 8th Jyotirlinga and a powerful Shakti Peeth. Where Lord Shiva heals all ailments of the body and soul.
Vaidyanath Temple is unique in the Hindu world. It is the only place where the **Jyotirlinga** (Shiva) and **Shakti Peeth** (Parvati's Heart) coexist.
Millions flock here, especially during the holy month of Shravan for the **Kanwar Yatra**, carrying holy Ganga water over 100km to offer to the Lord.

Ravana worshipped Shiva to take him to Lanka. Shiva gave him the Atmalinga on the condition it must not be placed on the ground.
Deceived by the gods, Ravana placed the Lingam here. Unable to lift it again, it remained fixed as Vaidyanath.
Raja Puran Mal of Gidhaur built the current main temple structure, showcasing intricate stone carvings.
The temple complex expanded. It is now a major pilgrimage center managed by the Shrine Board.
The main spire is 72 feet high and features a unique lotus-shaped amalaka and three ascending gold vessels.
The top of the Lingam is slightly broken, attributed to Ravana's attempt to uproot it.
The shrines of Shiva and Parvati are connected by red silken threads, symbolizing their eternal union.
