The 10th Jyotirlinga. The sacred abode where the Tridev - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva - are manifest in a single Lingam.
Trimbakeshwar is unique among all Jyotirlingas. While others represent Lord Shiva alone, here the Lingam has three faces symbolizing the Holy Trinity: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
Nestled at the foothills of the Brahmagiri Hills, this temple marks the origin of the sacred Godavari River (Ganga of the South). The temple complex, built in black stone, is a masterpiece of Hemadpanthi architecture.

Godavari Origin & Kumbh Mela
Sage Gautama performed penance to bring Ganga (Godavari) to earth to wash away the sin of Gohatya. Shiva was pleased and manifested here.
Construction of the sacred Kushavarta Tirtha, the kund where the Godavari river re-emerges.
Nanasaheb Peshwa (Balaji Bajirao) built the current magnificent black stone temple, replacing older structures.
Managed by the Trimbakeshwar Trust. A major site for Kumbh Mela and Kaal Sarp Dosh Nivaran puja.
Built entirely of black basalt stone, featuring intricate carvings characteristic of the Hemadpanthi style.
Unlike other Jyotirlingas, the Lingam here is in a depression (void) with three faces symbolizing Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
A short distance away lies this sacred pond, the starting point of the holy dip during the Kumbh Mela.
