Nageshwar Jyotirlinga - The protector from all poisons. A sacred pilgrimage on the route to Dwarka.
Nageshwar is traditionally considered the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas. It is located in the legendary Darukavana forest mentioned in the Puranas.
Lord Shiva is worshipped here as Nageshwar Mahadev, the Lord of Serpents. The temple is famous for its colossal 25-meter tall statue of Lord Shiva in a seated meditation posture, visible from miles away.

Protection from Poison
A demon named Daruka imprisoned a devotee named Supriya. Lord Shiva appeared to protect Supriya and vanquish the demon, manifesting as the Jyotirlinga.
The site corresponds to the ancient 'Darukavana' forest mentioned in scriptures. Archaeological finds suggest settlement here for centuries.
The current temple structure was renovated and the massive 82-foot statue of Lord Shiva was commissioned by the late Gulshan Kumar of T-Series.
The renovation was completed, and the temple was opened to the public in its current grand form.
The 85-foot tall statue of Lord Shiva in a seated meditation pose is one of the tallest in the region.
The Garbhagriha houses the Swayambhu Lingam. Unlike other temples, the Lingam faces South (Dakshinamurti) and the Gomukha faces East.
