Kashi Vishwanath - The spiritual heart of India in the eternal city of Varanasi. Where the Ganges flows and liberation (Moksha) is granted.
Kashi Vishwanath is one of the most famous Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vishwanath or Vishweshwar (Ruler of the Universe).
Standing on the western bank of the holy river Ganga, it is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The temple has been referred to in Hindu scriptures for a very long time as a central part of worship in the Shaiva philosophy.

The original temple, Adi Vishveshwar, finds mention in the Puranas (Kashi Khanda of Skanda Purana).
Destroyed multiple times by invaders including Qutb-ud-din Aibak and Aurangzeb. Rebuilt by Todar Mal in 1585.
The current structure was constructed by the Maratha ruler, Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab donated 1 ton of gold for plating the temple's dome.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, connecting the temple directly to the Ganga Ghats.
The 15.5m high spire is plated with pure gold. It is believed that seeing the dome grants a wish.
